Jon Murphy (police officer)
Sir Jonathan Michael Murphy, , is a senior British police officer. He is the Chief Constable of Merseyside Police. He has previously served as Deputy Chief Constable and a member of Association of Chief Police Officers.
He studied for a BA (Hons) in Law at Liverpool University.〔(Police Oracle )〕 In 2001, he earned a diploma in Applied Criminology from Cambridge University (Fitzwilliam College).〔(University of Cambridge )〕〔 The Fitzwilliam Journal, Volume XVV, No 1, 2014, p. 63.〕
==Honours==
Murphy has been commended on fourteen occasions and was awarded the Queen's Police Medal in the 2007 Birthday Honours.〔http://www.merseyside.police.uk/about-us/chief-officer-group/chief-constable-jon-murphy.aspx〕 He was knighted in the 2014 Birthday Honours for services to policing.
